Introducing Content Syndication and Explaining Its Importance
When you publish something you will want alert so many people as you possibly can about it. You also want so many as absolutely possible to read it. By providing a feed are you offering a service that many people value. In essence RSS is about offering people to be alerted when something new is published and an option to read your blog without necessarily having to visit it.
When you follow more than hundred blogs as I currently do is there no way you can visit them all every day. Instead I use my feed reader to provide me with an overview and to quickly browse what’s new since I checked it last. I still visit the articles that I want to read in full as that gives me the greatest pleasure just as I visit it if I want to comment on it, but I would be lost without my feed reader to keep me on top of all the information that these blogs provide.

Another great resource is 3spots Feed and RSS Tools in 5 Steps, which is actually is a resource for RSS information and tools as the 5 steps are long gone. Even though it is no longer updated does it still contain a lot of useful stuff.
